April 25th: City-led Open House on Hastings Park Governance

The City of Vancouver and its consultants are holding a second Open House to present the options they are considering for a governance model for Hastings Park. This may be the ONLY opportunity remaining for any community input on this issue:

Thursday, April 25th
from 6:00 to 9:00 pm (drop-in 6:00pm, presentation at 7:00pm)
Hastings Community Centre (E. Hastings & Lilloet).

Residents and neighbours of Hastings-Sunrise, we NEED YOUR PRESENCE, support and feedback at the open house.

The Friends of Hastings Park and other allied community groups continue to advocate the importance of protecting Hastings Park as a NATURAL AND PUBLIC ENVIRONMENT in our neighbourhood–A public park with business tenants (PNE/ racetrack) but with a publicly accountable governance board i.e.: a Vancouver Parks Board model.

Our desire is for a ‘Fair within a REAL park’, not flower boxes decorating trailers on asphalt!

We need the community to come to the meeting and participate in the discussion regarding the fate of Hastings Park.

In addition, let your voices and concerns be heard by sending e-mail to Vancouver City Council: mayorandcouncil@vancouver.ca
